
ABOUT
Elaina Spiro is a Nashville-based cellist specializing in film, tv, and gaming session work and recordings (onsite and remote). Her career highlights solo, chamber, and orchestral performance of both classical and contemporary nature.
In May 2026, Elaina graduated and earned a Master of Music degree in Cello Performance from the University of Southern California Thornton School of Music under the tutelage of Andrew Shulman, principal cellist of the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra and cellist of the Los Angeles Piano Trio. She performed as the opening artist for pop-icon Nessa Barrett at Masonic Lodge at Hollywood Forever for the live performances of her EP, 'Jesus loves a primadonna'. Barrett has accumulated over 2 billion streams and 30 million followers among social platforms to date. This year, she has recorded a multitude of films at Eastwood Scoring Stage at Warner Bros Studios, Sonic Fuel Studios, Steve Wariner Studios and John Williams Scoring Stage. She will be recording at the legendary Skywalker Sound on Skywalker Ranch in Marin County, CA this July, famous for recording the iconic scores of Star Wars, Jurassic Park, and other LucasFilm productions. Elaina is an active member of Salastina's Vital Sounds Program since 2024, performing weekly for patients, their families, and medical staff of UCLA Hospital’s ICU and Huntington Health’s CCU. She regularly volunteers at the Aristevi Foundation in Nashville, performing free, personalized concerts to survivors of human trafficking.
In 2025 Elaina most notably recorded cello on the scores of Dreamworks Animated Film 'Gabby's Dollhouse' in theaters September 26th, Electronic Arts 'Battlefield 6' released October 10th, and Bungie's 'Destiny 2: The Edge of Fate' released July 15th. She recorded at Eastwood Scoring Stage at Warner Bros Studios, Evergreen Studios, Igloo Studios, RCA Recording Studios, Ocean Way Recording Studios, and Altamira Sound. She performed with the San Bernardino Symphony under renowned conductor Anthony Parnther, and performed with the Riverside Philharmonic and the San Gabriel Valley Symphony. She recorded and performed live with artists such as Lorelei Marcell and Daniel Noah Miller, of the band Lewis Del Mar. Miller's 2026 EP 'Clearing' features Elaina on every track. She also attended the Vivace International Music Festival.
In 2024, Elaina recorded as a section cellist on multiple sessions and projects at Ocean Way Recording Studios in Nashville, TN and on film sessions in Los Angeles, CA. She performed live as a section cellist at the Grand Ole Opry in December 2024 for Tommee Profitt's The Birth of A King Live in Concert alongside GRAMMY-nominated artist Tina Guo.
In May 2024, she graduated from the Boston Conservatory at Berklee Summa Cum Laude as a Named Scholar, under sponsors Davi-Ellen and Bruce Chabner, and as the Presser Scholar Recipient. She earned a Bachelor of Music degree in Cello Performance under the tutelage of multi GRAMMY-nominated and Naumburg award-winning Rhonda Rider. In her sophomore year at the Boston Conservatory at Berklee, Elaina earned one of the principal positions in the Boston Conservatory Orchestra. She performed as principal cellist in eight orchestral concerts in halls during her undergraduate degree, most notably at the Boston Symphony Orchestra's Symphony Hall, Mechanics Hall in Worcester, MA, and Sander’s Theatre in Cambridge, MA. Elaina has had two opportunities to record at Power Station Recording Studios at Berklee NYC, once as a three-year member of the conservatory’s contemporary cello octet, BoCo Celli, and another time as principal cellist in a film score recording chamber orchestra. At Power Station, she participated in ten world premieres. In the 2022-2023 school year, Elaina was the cellist of the Hemenway String Quartet which competed and won the title of the Boston Conservatory’s Honors Ensemble. In the spring of 2024, Elaina was the featured solo cellist at the Lee Berk Tribute Concert at the Berklee Performance Center, performing arrangements of film score themes by Alan Silvestri and Ramin Djawadi.
Elaina currently plays an Italian cello by the work of Valentino De Zorzi, Florence circa 1909 from Boston-based luthier Curtis Bryant’s personal collection. Previously, she was a Virtu Foundation Scholar awarded the use of a cello from the Virtu collection in 2023-2024.
Prior to her undergraduate years, Elaina found her passion for cello performance during her time in the Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestras. She performed as principal in the Chicago Symphony Orchestra's Orchestra Hall and performed as a selected member of the Classical Orchestral Repertory Ensemble. It was in these experiences that she knew she was meant for a life in music.
When not making music, Elaina cultivates her other favorite artistic mediums. She is most passionate in contemporary dance and hip-hop. Elaina is very connected to her Greek culture. She is a trained Byzantine Iconographer and her paintings have been featured in churches across the globe. When not creating art, she is the biggest supporter of consuming the arts, and enjoys doing so the most when she is alongside her friends and family.
